What are Victim Support Tenders?

Victim support tenders provide services to help, emotional and practical support to victims of crime and traumatic incidents.

Services can vary depending on local needs, and will often focus on offering specialist support to defined cohorts. Such groups may be defined by gender, age, or they may be tailored to offer help to victims of specific experiences, including domestic abuse, sexual abuse, and other criminal behaviour.

Who Commissions Victim Support Tenders?

The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) commissions national victim support services, although recent years have seen the emphasis shift towards commissioning through localised models. Individual Police and Crime Commissioners (PCC) and authorities receive funding from the MoJ to commission local victims services, with additional procurement by NHS England and Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCG).

Within this sector it’s more likely to see commissioners seeking to appoint single suppliers for the delivery of contracts, although some models may be based on a framework delivering different specialisms across individual lots.
