Dover Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) Office Refurbishment and Infrastructure Works
The site at Dover is a critical operational location to for the Maritime and Coastguard Agency. Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre Dover and the team who work from the location deliver the six coastguard missions. The site is also the location where the Maritime and Coastguard Agency delivers its mandated Vessel Traffic Services for the Dover Strait and the Thames approaches.
The Operational areas require refurbishment to support a new layout and additional desks in both the Operations Room and a new Vessel Traffic Services area.
In addition, the following works are also required to improve the overall resilience of the site:
– Resilient power – Uninterruptable Power Supply to support all identified operational areas.
– Electrical switchgear and Uninterruptable Power Supply Rooms – preventative works to protect from flooding, corrosion, and loss of power.
– Exposed infrastructure – protection/replacement of exposed plant / assets.
The Contractor will take on Design responsibility for the works, acting as Principal Designer and as the Principal Contractor – (Construction Design & Management Regulations 2015).
The form of contract will be the NEC3 Engineering and Construction Contract Main Option A – Lump Sum with Activity Schedule
