Florence Boot – Refurbish and Extension
The University of Nottingham is proposing to complete construction and refurbishment works to Florence Boot Hall which is situated on the campus. The potential scope of works is summarised as follows;
o Works to the existing Halls building fabric. The roof of the original part of Hall is in need of significant works/overhaul
o Refurbishment of the existing accommodation comprising circa 200 student and tutor bedrooms, student dining room, junior/senior common rooms, library, bar, office and commercial kitchen
o Construct of a circa 50 bedroom annexe in close proximity to the existing Hall but which will not be linked
The existing Florence Boot Hall was built in three periods being circa 1928, 1959 and 1972.
The Project team are appointed and the early design stages are being progressed. Key dates are as follows;
o September 2020 – SQ Request Period
o November/December 2020 – Commercial pricing documents issued
o Spring 2021 – Start-on-site
Contractors are to be requested to register their interest in the projects as follows;
o Option 1 – Works to the existing Halls fabric and refurbishment works to the interior accommodation
o Option 2 – Works to the existing Halls fabric, refurbishment works to the interior accommodation and the new build annexe
The works covered by this notice relate to the above two options only. Expressions of interest for the new build annexe only will not be considered. Form of Contract will be the JCT D & B 2016
